This project will utilize open-source finite element software in order to create a realistic deep-drawing process simulation.

Expected Work:

  1. Study the deep drawing as a manufacturing process.
  2. Create a computational model that includes all phases in the deep drawing process.
  3. Convergence study
  4. Presentation

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Willingness to learn and work with open-source software.
  2. Prior exposure to numerical methods (finite element, finite difference, or related) is helpful but not required.
  3. Familiarity with concepts in mechanics or applied mathematics is a plus.
